Welcome to SATisfied ("we," "our," or "us"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our mobile application and educational platform. SATisfied is a client application for the Moodle Learning Management System, designed to help students access their educational content.

We are committed to protecting your privacy and being transparent about our data practices. This policy applies to all users of the SATisfied mobile application on iOS and Android platforms.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Account Information

When you create an account or are enrolled by your educational institution, we collect:

• Name: To identify you within courses and display your profile
• Email Address: For account verification, login, and important course notifications
• Username: Created by your institution or chosen by you for login purposes
• Institution/Course Information: To connect you with the appropriate educational content

2.2 Educational Data

To provide educational services, we collect:

• Course Progress: Completed lessons, quiz scores, and assignment submissions
• Learning Activity: Which courses and materials you access
• Submitted Work: Assignments, essays, and quiz answers you submit
• Grades and Feedback: Assessment results from your instructors

2.3 Technical Information

We automatically collect minimal technical data necessary for the app to function:

• Device Type: iOS or Android version for compatibility
• App Version: To ensure you're using the latest features
• Connection Data: To maintain your session and keep you logged in

3. Cookies and Session Management

3.1 Cookies We Use

Our app uses two types of cookies, both essential for the Moodle platform to work:

MoodleSession Cookie (Required)

• Purpose: Keeps you logged in while using the app
• Duration: Deleted when you log out or close the app
• Contains: A random session identifier (no personal data)
• Why it's essential: Without this, you would be logged out every time you navigate to a different page
• Tracking: NOT used for tracking - only for maintaining your login session

MOODLEID Cookie (Optional Convenience)

• Purpose: Remembers your username to pre-fill the login form
• Duration: Persistent (stays on your device until you clear it)
• Contains: Only your username (no password or sensitive data)
• Why it's optional: Makes login more convenient but isn't required
• You can refuse this: If you decline, you'll just need to type your username each time
• Tracking: NOT used for tracking - only for login convenience

3.2 What We DON'T Do With Cookies

3.3 Managing Cookies

The MoodleSession cookie is essential for the app to work. The MOODLEID convenience cookie can be declined when you first see the cookie notice. You can also clear cookies by:

• Logging out of the app (clears MoodleSession)
• Clearing app data in your device settings (clears all cookies)
• Reinstalling the app (removes all stored data)

4. How We Use Your Information

4.1 Educational Purposes Only

We use your information exclusively to:

• Provide access to your enrolled courses and educational materials
• Save your progress and allow you to resume where you left off
• Enable your instructors to grade assignments and provide feedback
• Display your grades and course completion status
• Facilitate communication between you, instructors, and classmates
• Send important course-related notifications

4.2 We Do NOT Use Your Information For:

5. Data Sharing and Disclosure

5.1 Who Can See Your Data

• Your Instructors: Can see your course work, grades, and participation in their courses
• Your Institution: Educational administrators may access your academic records
• Your Classmates: May see your name and any content you post in forums or group activities (as determined by your instructor)

5.2 Third-Party Services

We use Moodle, an open-source Learning Management System, to deliver educational content. Moodle does not share your data with advertisers or use it for commercial purposes.

5.3 No Data Selling

We do NOT sell, rent, or trade your personal information to anyone, ever.

5.4 Legal Requirements

We may disclose your information only if required by law, such as in response to a court order or subpoena, or to protect the safety of users or the public.

6. Data Security

We protect your information using:

• Encrypted connections (HTTPS/SSL) for all data transmission
• Secure servers with regular security updates
• Access controls limiting who can view student data
• Regular backups to prevent data loss
• Industry-standard security practices

However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure. While we strive to protect your information, we cannot guarantee absolute security.

7. Data Retention

• Active Account Data: Retained while your account is active and for the duration of your enrollment
• Course Records: May be retained by your institution according to their academic records policies
• Session Cookies: Deleted when you log out or close the app
• Account Deletion: If you request account deletion, we will remove your personal data within 30 days, except where required by law or institution policy

8. Your Rights and Choices

You have the right to:

• Access Your Data: Request a copy of the information we have about you
• Correct Inaccuracies: Update incorrect or incomplete information
• Delete Your Account: Request deletion of your account and associated data
• Opt-Out of Optional Communications: Unsubscribe from non-essential emails
• Refuse Optional Cookies: Decline the MOODLEID convenience cookie

9. Children's Privacy

SATisfied is designed for educational use by students of various ages. We do not knowingly collect more information from children under 13 than is necessary for educational purposes. If you are under 13, you should use this app only with the involvement of a parent, guardian, or teacher.

Parents and guardians have the right to review their child's information, request deletion, and refuse further collection. Contact your child's educational institution for assistance.

10. International Users

Our services are hosted on servers that may be located in different countries. By using SATisfied, you consent to the transfer of your information to these locations. We ensure that any such transfers comply with applicable data protection laws.

11. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically to reflect changes in our practices or legal requirements. We will notify you of significant changes by:

• Posting the updated policy in the app
• Updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page
• Sending a notification if changes materially affect your rights

Your continued use of SATisfied after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
